As time passes and the war sadly drags into the 3rd month, nature has its way of letting us be lax.. even as we get news of fallen soldiers R’L. To counter this, those entering 770 over the past days were greeted with signs proclaiming: “Emergency Kinus,” help our sisters and brothers in Eretz Hakodesh!
Some 300 Chassidim gathered to Daven, Learn, and take Hachlotos to increase in Mitzvos honoring the soldiers and “storming the heavens” to have the hostages released.
The Kinus began with a video of Rebbe’s strong words of encouragement while clear directives for the leaders in Eretz Hakodesh to finish this operation at lightning speed. Then young TH soldiers led the crowd in the 12 Pesukim
Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz opened the event by stressing the danger if any of us ease off in our Avodas Hashem [learning, Davening, Mitzvos, acts of Chessed] during these trying times, it is as severe as a soldier deserting his post!! Being that time dulls the effect, we must gather to strengthen each other, and re-commit to our responsibility and duty!
Specifically, every Chossid must find an opportunity to do ‘Mivtza Tefilin’ which the Rebbe said quotes the Possuk and Gemora that “וראו כל עמי הארץ … ויראו ממך” which leaves the enemy fear-stricken.
R’ Nachman Schapiro – Head Mashpia of Oholei Torah led the Kapitlach Tehilim selected by the Rabbonim.
Rabbi Yisroel Hershkowitz – The Rebbe’s Shliach to Ofakim, Israel described Simchas Torah this year, even at the onslaught of this turmoil, and it surely is an Eis Tzara from on-high, we all are still experience Hashem’s guiding hand and open Nissim! He inspired all to increase in Simcha and even to make Seudes Hodaah celebrating in advance, for future Nissim!
Horav Yosef Yeshaya Braun – Mara D’asra, spoke Divrei Hisorerus on behalf of the Badatz. He stressed, brought sources, and urged all to add even in very small acts, as insignificant as they may seem! Say a small Kapital Tehilim while walking, A small coin in Tzedoka, and the like.
Rabbi Sholom Zirkind said Divrei Torah connected with the day of Asara B’teves and the power of this special time.
Rabbi Yusewitz mentioned routes for Mivtzoim which are family friendly in Sheepshead Bay by contacting Reb Yitzi Schwartz at (347) 564-7647 or Reb Menachem Gerelitzky (917) 865-7425 for old age homes in the area (suitable for any afternoon)
Special thanks to the organizers:
