It sounds like you really have your hands full….however, if I am not mistaken – it is forbidden to pet (or touch) non-kosher animals and creatures. It causes one to forget the Torah that they learned. It would be wise to refrain from any contact with a non-kosher (tahor) being.
Just a suggestion, not that chas v’sholom you should listen to me, but just bear it in mind.
