Thousands of women and girls from around the world are gathering this weekend in New York for the International Kinus Hashluchos, the annual convention of Chabad rebbetzins serving as co-directors of Chabad centers, communities, schools and institutions worldwide.
The four-day program will take place from Thursday, Feb. 12, through Sunday, Feb. 15. It commences with a workshop and welcome session, and concludes with a gala banquet that will be broadcast live Sunday night on COLlive.com.
The Shluchos gather to share inspiration, ideas and goals, leaving rejuvenated and ready to carry on their work with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.
The days are filled with prayers, meals, workshops, lectures, sessions and farbrengens that will explore their daily work, while sharing ideas and advice on a variety of areas in their personal and communal responsibilities.
On Wednesday, the first day of the conference, Shluchos visited the home of the Rebbe and the Rebbe’s room in 770. They also gathered for dinner at the Jewish Children’s Museum.
On Friday they will be visiting the Rebbe’s Ohel and Rebbetzin’s gravesite in Queens for a joint prayer and will be taking a “group photo” on Motzoei Shabbos at the Eden Palace in Williamsburg.
The Kinus will come to a roaring conclusion on Sunday, 26 Shevat (February 15) at the Gala Banquet to be held at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. It will unite Shluchos and supporters for an uplifting evening.
Keynote speaker will be Mrs. Goldie Avtzon, co-founder of Lubavitch in the Far East.
Guest speaker at the banquet will be Mrs. Rhoda Dermer, wife of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer.
During the convention, a simultaneous fun-filled weekend with farbrengens, trips and programs is taking place for the young daughters of Shluchim.
For three days, the young Shluchos soak in an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendship, gaining a deeper understanding of the connection the Rebbe has with his Shluchim and how this bond gives each one of them strength every day.
Just as with the Shluchos, the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchos will conclude on a high with a grand banquet, bringing all the achdus and dancing, and a grand roll-call.
