This summer, the Menachem Education Foundation (MEF) is excited to announce the Kinus Mechanchos Chabad / Chabad Chinuch Convention and Retreat – to Mechanchos for the fifth consecutive year. The many repeat participants have seen the Kinus grow in both numbers and toichen by leaps and bounds, and this year will be no different.
The Kinus will take place ‘בעזרת ה on July 6-7 – י”ד-ט”ו תמוז, at the Crowne Plaza, Stamford. Like last year, the Kinus will be a fully immersive retreat, this time with even more amenities and inspiration planned for Mechanchos. Over five hundred teachers and administrators of nursery through 12th grade are expected to join from all over the world, with new tracks of programming being planned accordingly.
The Kinus is overseen by a Vaad of esteemed Mechanchos, including Morahs Shana Teichtel, Batsheva Deren, and Chani Brod. With their guidance, workshops and general sessions will focus on the relationships and connections that we need to joyfully build with our students, as the foundation of all other aspects of Chinuch. Presenters will include educators, Mashpiim/os, and psychologists, exploring the different facets of building connection and supporting our students, including Morah Mashi Lipsker, Rabbi Shais Taub, Mrs. Dena Gorkin and more.
At the same time, Mechanchos will be treated to luxurious accommodations, delicious meals, swimming and other special touches to show them the hakaros hatov that they deserve for their dedication and effort throughout the year. Mrs. Alyson Feldman of FFH events will be returning to the convention, ensuring that every detail meets the needs and wants of Mechanchos.
Although we are still in the thick of the school year, a committee of 25 educators led by convention chair Mrs. Nami Friedman, has already begun planning for the summer Kinus. The committee includes teachers and principals, preschool Morahs through high school teachers, Crown Heights Mechanchos and Shluchos around the country, to represent the needs of all Chabad Mechanchos. Registration will begin after Pesach, but in the meantime, Mechanchos everywhere can mark their calendars, ensuring that they have something to look forward to this summer.
Despite current challenges with travel around the world, organizers are confident that their Tefilos for a healthy and successful Kinus will be fulfilled, best of all, with a Kinus Mechanchos Chabad in Yerushalayim. As Mrs. Chaya Liberow from Johannesburg, South Africa wrote after last year’s Kinus, “It was phenomenal on every level, and being able to collaborate with other educators, who have all come to grow, learn and with a positive excited attitude was a gift that will last a long time.”
