Longstanding Crown Heights staple Kingston Bake Shop has reopened after months of closure and has undergone a full renovation.
Owner Tzion Yakubov, who has owned the popular bakery for 14 years and runs it together with his wife Adina and son Yosef, says he enlisted the help of his style-savvy daughters for color and design inspiration.
The newly updated bakeshop and cafe now boasts a modern, yet warm, look with exposed red brick and deep blue walls.
The updated shop has been warmly received by his many customers, who stop by for their favorite baked goods, fresh bread, challah and pastries, sandwiches and more.
“We are still offering our usual popular items, but now we also offer many more grab ‘n go items, like salads, wraps, and sandwiches,” Yakubov says.
They also offer a coffee bar with a variety of hot and cold flavored coffees, espresso and hot drinks, smoothies, as well as a full sushi bar.
An exciting new item on the menu that he expects to be a big hit with customers is cold brew nitrogen coffee, “it has twice as much caffeine but much less acid,” Yakubov explains.
Their grab ‘n go menu offers items like Yogurt Parfait, Gluten and Sugar-Free Cheese Cake, Cheese Blintzes, Baked Ziti and Lasagna.
They still offer their popular breakfast special of two eggs any style, home fried potatoes, salad, buttered bagel and 10oz coffee, a great deal at $6.99 until 1:00 PM.
Their sandwich menu includes egg salad, omelet, tuna, flounder, and baked salmon sandwiches.
A built-in bar for indoor seating is located in the window, for when indoor seating is allowed again.
For now, Yakubov says, he will be adding outdoor seating on the sidewalk and in the street in front of the store.
They offer delivery and pickup for online orders as well, with their website to be launched shortly.
