Crown Heights’ main thoroughfare Kingston Avenue has been closed off since early Wednesday morning for repaving work in the neighborhood.
The repaving is being done on Kingston Avenue directly in front of 770 Eastern Parkway, the busiest intersection in Crown Heights, which is even more congested with vehicles and pedestrians during this week of Chol Hamoed Sukkos.
Workers in the area said the work will continue for at least the next three hours.

Do they intentionally do this whenever all our guests are in?? Sukkos, Gimel Tammuz, and theres been other times as well!
Where is our community council??? How dare they paving the hub of CH at this time of year when there are so many guests from out of town. It is not even safe. And what a nuisance!
What a Chutzpah to ruin our Yom Tov.
We are an integral part of this neighborhood and there is absolutely no respect. Again, where are our community politicians. I see their faces everywhere except when it comes to protecting OUR community and neighborhood and for speaking up for what’s right.
Shameful.
Brooklyn Community Board 9, which represents the Crown Heights neighborhood (11213, 11225 & 11203), gets EVERY week a full list from DOT and all city agencies of the upcoming weeks construction.
Brooklyn Community Board 9 has the choice of informing the community or not informing the community.
Brooklyn Community Board 9 also has the choice to recommend that certain city street work be postponed till a later date, or not..
Are there any Lubavitchers on Brooklyn Community Board 9 ?
Isn’t there a community council to make sure these kind of things don’t happen in the midst of busy times?
Cmon man…..
Brooklyn road work Weekly Construction Bulletin for CH is overseen by community board 9.
Moving forward, hopefully the people in charge running community board 9 Brooklyn can notify COL and the CH community about planned road work.
Please can you name me one other frum community in NY where this would happen on day #3 of Chol Hamoed….
You will get a prize.
@so called community leaders hanging out with elected officials in the sukkah.
No need to expand on that. We all know.
