Children whose mothers lived close to a mobile phone tower while pregnant did not appear to be at any higher risk of cancer than children whose mothers lived farther away, a new study finds.
AP reported that British researchers analyzed 1,397 cancer cases in children up to age 4 from 1999 to 2001 in the United Kingdom. Using a national birth registry, they identified 5,588 similar children without cancer.
Next, they compared how far the children’s mothers lived from a cell phone tower and the stations’ signal strengths. No significant differences were seen between the two groups.
Exposure to radiofrequency from mobile phone towers is much lower than exposure from cell phones.
A day’s exposure from a mobile phone tower equals about 30 minutes of cell phone use, researchers said.

this study is good. we need more studies which will show whether adults who get sick are more likely or not to get sick if they live near a cell phone tower. this study sounds limited in the fact that they tested only children who were living near cell phone towers when their mother’s were pregnant with them. I do not think that based on such a study alone it is sufficient to say that all people will not get sick living near cell phone towers. dovid g hopefully cell phone towers are 100% safe. however it is not moral… Read more »

Talks about cell phone radiation on their website and explains that it is the same type as in radio waves etc, not like from xray’s and MRI’s which are harmful. They claim that there is no correlation between cancer and cell phone towers.
Article states: “This study was paid for by an independent body…. funded by Britain’s department of health and MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY.”
It’s like asking the pharmacuetical companies to pay for a study saying that immunizations are harmful!!!
