“Stop, drop, and roll…to bring Moshiach now” proclaims a colorful poster by brothers Nosson and Levi Potash, who are students at Lubavitch Boys Junior School in London.
“There are three things to do when the Yetzer Hara’s fire is upon you,” the poster instructs. “Stop the Yetzer Hara from taking over, drop the thoughts that are stopping you from doing the right thing, and roll forward to fill out more missions!”
Launched as part of Cheshvan’s recruitment effort, Chayolei Tzivos Hashem’s second-annual poster contest aimed to get kids thinking creatively about how to both market the program to potential participants and to motivate soldiers already in the ranks of Hashem’s army.
“We want to get everyone excited about Tzivos Hashem,” explains Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem. “To fulfill the Rebbe’s vision, we can’t stop until every single student in our mosdos is enlisted and active.”
Slogans like “Win the fight, be a great light,” and “Don’t just be soldier, become a general!” on colorful backgrounds encourage fulfilling the purpose of the world and bringing Moshiach. The winning creations, chosen by a team at Tzivos Hashem headquarters, have been featured in a video to be watched at schools across the globe, as well as in Hachayol magazine.
“The poster contest is yet another medium through which Tzivos Hashem unites children toward a greater goal,” comments Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, executive director of Tzivos Hashem. “We are proud to honor the creativity and effort that went into each child’s submission,” adds Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice-chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
The poster competition has sparked the imagination and talent of thousands of chayolim in schools around the world, depicting their understanding of what it means to be a soldier in the army of Hashem. “We have a lot to learn from these kids,” says Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, director of MyShliach, “These children are very creative—completely focused on their mission to bring Moshiach NOW!”
