Since the war broke out, members of Bais Shmuel Chabad have been committed and determined to do whatever possible for the safety and security of our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel and around the world.
One of the many initiatives has been Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim.
“Shabbos Mevorchim Tehillim is something we push on an ongoing basis,” says Rabbi Moshe Pinson, founder of Bais Shmuel Chabad in Crown Heights. “Tehillim is one of the most powerful ammunition we have, and when said by children it’s extra powerful.”
In this time of war, Yidden everywhere have united to do good in the merit of Israel, and Bais Shmuel has united with the Crown Heights schools to create an unprecedented Koch in Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim.
“The schools have the personnel – the most amazing principals and teachers – that encourage the children, while we have provided them with the funding for extra special incentives for the children,” said Moshe Pinson.
Many schools have joined the initiative, providing different rewards based on what they believe will work best for their children. “The most important thing is that more and more Tehillim will be said,” said Pinson.
The amount of Tehillim said last month just in the Crown Heights schools, was 60,258 Kapitlach.
With that in mind, Bais Shmuel is going all out again for this month, with the hope they can top that number.
Children are encouraged to recite Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim Kislev, and will be entered into a raffle at participating schools and Bais Shmuel Chabad in Crown Heights. Each school will be holding its own program and incentives.
Each child who says 10 Kapitlach at Shul or at home will receive ice cream, danishes, and chocolate milk in school after Shabbos, depending on their school’s program.
“While incentives are important, one of the biggest motivations for children is the recognition of how powerful they are,” he says. “This is a time for parents and teachers to truly impart to their children that they indeed are the most powerful soldiers in this battle.”
Parents can help by reinforcing to their children the power they have by reciting Tehillim.
The Shabbos Mevorchim Tehillin project is sponsored in memory of the bochur Shmuel Karnowsky OBM, who passed away at the young age of 15, and has grown and seen great success since being founded in his memory. It is also sponsored by R’ Shmuel Aizenberg and family in memory of Baruch ben R’ Shmuel Eliyahu and Bracha Rochel bas R’ Moshe and in memory of Bubby Rochel Duchman obm whose first Yartzeit is Rosh Chodesh Kislev.
May the pure Tehillim of these children bring a total victory in this war, and a total victory in our golus war with the coming of Moshiach NOW!
