Nearly 200 bochurim, who will be arriving in the US to spend a year in Kevutza – learning in the Yeshiva of 770 Eastern Parkway – will first spend 2 weeks in quarantine outside of Crown Heights.
The bochurim will spend 2 weeks at the beautiful Camp Chomeish in Moodus, Connecticut, before moving to the neighborhood.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many Crown Heights residents have expressed concern about the group of students who arrive yearly ahead of Tishrei from locations around Israel.
The quarantine program was planned by Igud Talmidei Kevutza and a group of the bochurim’s parents who have stepped up to deal with the difficulties involved with a large group traveling during coronavirus times. The program is being planned with the financial support of donors from Crown Heights and around the world.
In the quarantine program, the bochurim will have a unique experience that will prepare them for a year of Chasidishe growth and learning in 770, they said.
They will participate in a rich program of learning and Farbrengens along with enjoying the beautiful surroundings. There will be a full dining room, canteen, and a full learning schedule, they said.

That’s Chomeish!!
Who will ensure they do not leave the grounds?
Will the Tishri guest also quarantine for 2 weeks
Very nice place !
They have very nice accommodations
Why don’t stay the full year in CT ? 🤣
Are they going to be tested?
Didn’t the doctors say NOT to come to Crown Heights unless you have antibodies or you have tested positive in the past? quarantine does not help being that as soon as one Bocher gets it the whole kevutzah gets it… and that is a danger for the elders in our community!
Please retract this!!!
do you want the whole world to have antibodies for a disease that kills much less than the Flu so people can travel again???? If so, just vote for Biden, but it comes with a price in other areas as well, like the lack of security on the streets and more antisemitism…..not to say you will be considered a racist if you have your own religious values.
You seem to be a bit .out of the scene with your comment.
Regarding the chassidish aspect of learning in 770 and
in the idea of the preciousness of being in the
Rebbe’s place – “kan tziva Hashem es habrocha”
.
Not if it makes people sick!
We are getting conflicting messages from the leaders in our community.
Out-of-town families are not allowed to perform wedding in Crown Heights, so no Chupah in 770, even though chosson & kallah & guests have been in CH during their engagement, & parents will quarantine), but 200 new bochurim will be allowed to come because it’s important that they spend a year in 770?
Once quarantined for 2 weeks they become on the same status as someone who is already in crown heights.
Ahavas Israel !!!
no they are not…since if even one of them gets sick then all of them will put people at risk in CH if they come. we live here we have no choice but to be here. they do not have to come here during a pandemic
So you let’s say you have kids that you send to camp and Yeshiva if they get sick then they can get everyone else sick, you probably still send your kids to camp and Yeshiva, please drop the double standard
Where is all this hate coming from?! They are doing what they can and following the rules. They have been waiting all their lives for this year in 770. And yet they are waiting two full weeks before coming. Say thank you to them for trying their best. That two week quarantine is the same thing crown heights students will be doing when they go to seminary in eretz Yisroel.
So maybe girls shouldn’t go to seminary and boys shouldn’t go to yeshiva in Israel… it goes both ways …
If Yeshivos are opening, should 770 be any different?
This is the safe way and only those with antibodies are coming.
770 bochurim are people too, don’t lump them together with others.
They are cheap labor force its good for the business in the neighborhood its good for the food shops for the car rental for the insurance claims and keep traffic on the streets for the safety of the residents
Think positive!!!
If they need to be in the US during Tishrei, can the two weeks of quarantine please include Sukkos, Shemini Atseres, and Simchas Torah?
Your comment indicates your dislike for the Rebbe’s guests. If you’d be worried about the virus, you wouldn’t care whether or not they’re here for Yom Tov, just that they follow the rules. There’s some blatant sinas chinam going on here.
These guys are following the rules your precious doctors set out (which aren’t even legally required), why hate on them?
You can make rules, and then complain about those who ACTUALLY keep them!
The quarantine will help them not bring COVID, but at the moment the bigger issue is if they have not yet been exposed they will be reducing whatever herd immunity exists in crown heights. Why are Americans being asked not to travel to CH for family and now they see this. It needs to be really simple. No tishrei guests, no kvutza, no international simchas, no visitors. We’re in an emergency right now, eventually life will return to normal but the lives of residents shouldn’t be put on the line for this. Why don’t the rabonim give clear instructions and… Read more »
Let the relatives come just follow the 2 week quarantine, I mean really follow like these Bachurim will
The Rabbonim of CH as well as Dr Rosen and the Gedalia society just recently said that only people with a previous positive covid test, or positive antibody test can come, how does this quarantine satisfy that requirement?!
They didn’t say that they can just get tested and if it’s negative they’re good
No one here follows rules. They bend them as they see fit.
