The Keren Hashluchim Mei Chaya Mushka fund, led by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos, announced a $36,000 matching fund grant towards the new Mikvah to be built in memory of Pesya Lapine HYD.
Rabbi Kotlarsky made the announcement after Maariv on Wednesday evening, the eve of Pesya’s Yartzeit, after which Pesya’s son Rabbi Avraham Lapine recited Kaddish.
After davening, the minyan said l’chaim to mark Mrs. Lapine’s 30th yartzeit.
The funding is being done through the Keren Hashluchim Mei Chaya Mushka fund, one part of the “Tripling our Efforts – Dor Shekulo Zakai” commitments that were made by Rabbi Kotlarsky during the last Kinus Hashluchim. During the Kinus Hashluchos the first 12 Mikvos to receive funding approval were announced as well.
Rabbi Avraham Lapine, Pesya’s son, now a husband and father of 6, established a Chabad house in Columbia, MO, along with his wife. They have revived Jewish life through offering Torah classes, Shabbat and Yom Tov meals, and opportunities for local Jews to do mitzvos and connect with their Judaism. One challenge they have in their community is easy access to a Mikvah. The current Mikvah system in remote Missouri involves an arduous and difficult undertaking.
In honor of Pesya Leah’s 30th Yartzeit, Rabbi Avraham Lapine will continue his mother’s legacy through the building of a Mikvah in Columbia, MO.
You too can be a part of this incredible deed. Please partner in making Mei Pesya Leah a reality to enable the families in Columbia, MO to observe the Mitzvah of Family Purity. Pesya Leah gave her life for the sanctification of G-d’s name. Through Mei Pesya Leah, G-d’s name will continue to be sanctified, and her legacy will continue until the ultimate sanctification with the coming of Moshiach.

Avraham, you are a a true Chosid and a… Read more »
