Over 40 women from around the world recently took part in an intense week of in-house study, ranging from halacha and hashkafa to emotional and practical viewpoints.
It was the first phase of the new Kallah Teacher Training Course presented by Mikvah.org – the Taharas Hamishpacha Organization, an affiliate of Machne Israel.
Presentations by skilled presenters included experienced Kallah teachers and mentors, rabbis, doctors, therapists, professionals, complete with PowerPoint presentations and Q&A sessions.
There were 2 presentations by Rabbi Dovid Bartfeld of Tahareinu.com, an organization developed solely to help women attain and maintain taharah, a particular highlight of the week.
The program was presented professionally and beautifully. Opening and closing sessions featured buffet suppers, and daily fare included beverages, healthful snacks, hot lunches and all the amenities.
“This course has opened my eyes as to what teaching a Kallah really entails,” said one participant. “Aside for the details in Halacha and Hashkafa that this course has taught me in a most groundbreaking way, the course also emphasized the holistic approach a Kallah teacher must have with regard to Taharas Hamishpacha.
“The course stressed and covered the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual relationship a Kallah and woman has with this precious Mitzvah. It enlightened me to see how keeping this most essential mitzvah directly affects our lives and families in the most fundamental of ways.”
Another said: “We had the privilege to hear from highly respected rabbonim, top medical experts and therapists, experienced Kallah teachers and specialists that deal with a wide range of issues that arise in women’s health and reproduction. Having these resources available to us is certainly going to enhance our ability to best assist the kallahs we teach, women in our communities and even in our own homes.”
Mikvah.org said it plans to follow up with bi-weekly webinars running throughout the next few months for all participants following the criteria for certification as Kallah Teachers, followed by a Mentorship Program under experienced Kallah teachers.
“The end result will yield a roster of top-notch, well-trained Kallah teachers, prepared to give their students their all in every way imaginable to enhance Taharas Yisroel and give every Kallah, from every level of observance, the right start,” says Chaya S. Zarchi, Executive Director of Mikvah.org.
“All in all, this program is a true nachas to the Rebbe and in keeping with his directives in this area so vital to the survival of Am Yisroel,” she said, and thanked Mr. Greens and The Print House for their sponsorship.
