Honorable Shluchim and guests from across the globe, I am honored to greet you on behalf of close to 600 fellow young shluchim who have gathered from all around the world. Tonight, you need not worry; I will share with you something short from the weekly Torah portion. This coming Shabbos we read Parshas Vayeitze. The Parsha opens up with “Vayeitze Yaakov MiBeer Shava Vayelech Charana”- Jacob our… Read more »

Yours was the ONLY negative comment in this thread (while now mine is… that makes 2)
Please, I beg of you, do not begrudge a person their right to express themself in their time of sorrow. The recent tragedies have befallen shluchim and it is natural to feel connected. Don’t read any more into it than that and next time keep your comments to yourself.

very sad

Well read and well spoken
November 9, 2010 12:56 pm

Another proof of the high level of sophistication of the shluchim and their children. Their shlichus only enhances their general communication skills, poise, and knowledge of most practical subjects to do with such diverse topics as construction, cooking, science and psychology. These people could be professional consultants in almost any field! And the punchline is that that just happens to come with the job and is very peripheral to their singleminded lifelong focus on bringing Jews closer to yiddishkeit.

“may the ‘Fam of Shluchim’ know no further sorrow”.

How about all other Yidden? Why be so divisive? Is this the way to inspire Rachumim from HKB”H? Didn’t we suffer enough already?

November 8, 2010 11:01 pm

Just as Hashem heard the cry of Moshe Rabbeinu for his fellow Jews in Mitzraim and took them out of that galus, may Hashem hear the cry of Moshe Holtzberg, the yosam who lost his mother and father two years ago today, as well as the moving speech of this yosam, Moshe Cohen. AD MOSAI?
