Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, a beautiful Menorah lighting and other Chanukah events took place in Zaparosha, Ukraine.
Only miles from the unrest, Shluchim Nochum and Dina Ehrentrau organized Menorah lightings and Chanukah parties to spread the light and joy of Chanukah to residents.
8 bochurim from the Brunoy Yeshiva traveled to the city to assist with the programs and visited homes and senior centers bringing Menorahs and holiday joy to all.
On Sunday, over 300 people joined for a Chanukah celebration at the Chabad house, with a public Menorah lighting in the town’s square for over 500 people.
The Menorah lighting included fireworks, music and dancing and Chanukah treats. The Menorah was lit by lay leaders to the shouts of “Chanukah Sameach!” from the crowd.
On Shabbos, the members of the community traveled to Dnepropetrovsk for a Shabbaton at the famed Menorah center.
