Monday was a dark day for the community of Pittsburgh, and indeed, well beyond.
Young Sholom Ber Markel, a boy of 4, tragically passed away.
Shalom Ber, even at just 4 years old, was a beacon of pure joy and a true soldier of Hashem. With a heart full of purpose and purity, he was eager to bring Moshiach and took joy in every mitzvah. His boundless energy and love brightened the lives of everyone around him.
The smile that was a steady presence upon his precious face spoke volumes and would light up even the darkest of rooms.
Now, there’s a painful silence where his laughter and affection once filled the air. His family is left with indescribable pain and an immense void in their hearts.
What can be said in the aftermath of such an unthinkable tragedy?
What can be said, that has not already been said?
What can be done?
Our minds are immediately shifted to the family.
Their tragedy is all of ours, and their pain is felt by all of us.
They’re facing the challenges of both grieving and unexpected funeral costs. They need support to be present for their other three children and to afford essential counseling. Let’s come together for them, helping cover funeral expenses, daily living costs during this time, and counseling fees. Let’s rally around them with love and support so they know they’re not alone in this journey. Even the smallest donation will help build a foundation of hope for tomorrow.
During this unthinkable time, everyone’s first question is naturally: “How can I help?”
Well, here you go.
All donated funds will be managed and overseen by a panel of Rabbonim, including
Rabbi Moshe Bryski
Rabbi Yisroel Rosenfeld
Rabbi Shlomo Silverman, Chabad of Carnegie Mellon University
Rabbi Elchonon Friedman, Bnei Emmunah Chabad
