The Lubavitch Anash community of Johannesburg, South Africa came together on Monday night Yud Tes Kislev for a lavish Seudah and Farbrengen.
Hosted by the Lubavitch Foundation as part of their many programs in honour of 40 years since the arrival of the first Shluchim Rabbi Mendel and Rebbetzin Mashi Lipskar to South Africa, the evening brought together hundreds of Anash for a truly hartzig and inspiring evening.
Rabbi Lipskar was the MC for the event, and he invited Rabbi Ari Arenstein to share the story of Yud Tes Kislev.
After a delicious main course, Rabbi Nesanel Shochet, Rabbi of the Chassidim Shul, addressed the crowd with chassidishe stories and thought-provoking ideas.
He spoke passionately about the need to wake up and come back home, to Chassidus. Yud Tes Kislev must serve as a jolt which puts us back where we truthfully belong – giving ourselves over to the Rebbe and studying Chassidus.
Rabbi Yossy Goldman from Sydenham Shul gave a report back from the Kinus Hashluchim and shared his own personal experiences there as well as those of his Baalei Batim.
Following the signing of the “daled bovos” the large crowd broke out in a chassidishe dance.
Following the formal program many of the participants sat down for a chassidishe farbrengen with Rabbi Lipskar and many of the Shluchim that continued way past midnight.
The evening was kindly sponsored by Mark and Andy Stein.
