Over 60 people from all over the Southern Colorado region came to participate in the annual Yud Tes Kislev “Evening of Inspiration and Music” held in the Chabad Shul of Colorado Springs, hosted by Rabbi Moishe and Zeldy Liberow, Shluchim of Southern Colorado.
In the last 5 years, Chabad of Southern Colorado has held a Gala Dinner which includes a Guest Speaker as well as a group of local musicians that perform beautiful Chabad melodies with instruments.
This year, the event was honored by guest speaker Rabbi Sholom Ber Lew, Shliach in Glendale, Arizona, who addressed the crowd with warm and inspiring words true to a Chassidishe Fabrengen.
Rabbi Lew illustrated many stories of how Chassidus contributes to the strength of Jewish pride which enable a Jew to journey through life without comprising on Jewish values and morals. He shared a story of his trip to Poland and the hundreds who struck up a conversation and were inspired just because of his Jewish attire.
A local community member, Dr. Elliot Cohen, shared fascinating historical facts of the situation of the Jews in Russia and Poland during the years around 1798 the year that the Geulah of Yud Tes Kislev took place.
Rabbi Yisroel M. Popack, Head Shliach of Colorado, shared encouraging words gleaned from the letters of the Rebbe on the importance of taking on firm commitments to increase in the study of Chassidus throughout the year.
So good to see the next generation of Lew’s coming up the ranks! Great choice of speaker, who the Rebbe referred to as a Gezunter Chosid!
