A Jewish woman was slapped in a possible bias attack on Wednesday evening in Crown Heights.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:10 PM in front of 346 New York Avenue when the Jewish woman was approached by an assailant, who asked, “are you Jewish,” the victim told police.
When the victim replied yes, the attacker slapped both of the victim’s hands, causing the victim to sustain a cut on her right hand.
The victim followed her attacker to S. John’s Place and called 911, where the 77th Precinct responded, who then notified the 71st Precinct.
The incident is being investigated as a possible bias incident, and the hate crimes task force is investigating.

Women and children need to feel safe!
Seriously?!?! Let’s call a spade a spade. “Possible”?!?! Sure doesn’t seem like a neighborly greeting. It’s nothing but a bias attack that has to be treated as such as well the perpetrator for acting this way.
Daytime attacks in central crown heights…
Can we mace someone like this or would someone who uses the mace get into trouble?
I think people are forgetting that ch is part of the hood and there is lots of crime that happens in neighborhoods like this and crimes like this happens to people of all religions and races. I am not saying that this individual case is or is not anti Semitic but people cant say every crime is targeted because they are Jewish.
Really? They asked if she was Jewish. What else but an antisemitic hate crime could it possibly be?
