With 4 days left to The Jewish Songwriting Competition submission deadline, original compositions continue to pour in, with over 145 songs already submitted.
Winners will be chosen by two panels: Singer Avraham Fried, composer Yossi Green and music producer Moishy Goldstein will be listening to the men’s compositions. Singer Bracha Jaffe and singer-songwriters Esther Freeman and Chaya Kogan will be listening to the woman’s compositions.
Submissions have come in from around the globe, producer of the competition Moishy Goldstein told COLlive.
Contestants range in age from 15-72 and are from over 40 communities around the world including: Jerusalem, Tzfas, Toronto, Chicago, Thornhill Ontario, London, Crown Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Boro Park, Williamsburg, Flatbush, Queens, Monsey, Montreal, Lakewood, Jackson NJ, Passaic NJ, Copiague, Pittsburgh, Far Rockaway, Airmont, Postville, Carlsbad, Howard Beach, Berkeley California, S. Monica, California, Pleasanton, California, Cherry Hill, Sea Gate, Detroit, Five Towns, Baltimore, New Orleans, St. Louis, Bet Shemesh, Lod, Netivoth, Kiryas Joel, Ottawa, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Melbourne, Australia.
The best compositions will get their song professionally produced for free at Music Studio NYC, complete with music creation, vocals, mixing and album art. Runners-up will receive significant discounts to help them record their song at the studio.
In addition, all submissions, whether winning or not, may opt in to have their songs shared with Jewish singers who are looking to buy new compositions.
