The main streets of Pushkinskaya and Sumskaya in Kharkov were closed Sunday for a grand Lag Baomer Parade.
After the 12 pesukim were said by students of the Kindergarten, cheder, Machon and Yeshiva, the parade began with a large band and men on stilts.
Spectators watched in awe as the crowd marched with Jewish pride with banners and signs. Young and old enjoyed the program which was followed by pony rides, a jumping castle, face painting, a barbecue and bonfire.
This year special mention was made that this is the 20th year that Lag Baomer has been celebrated publicly in the streets of Kharkov.
