An Orthodox Jewish man is in critical condition after he was repeatedly stabbed and slashed while walking to Shul Wednesday morning.
Police said the man was stabbed about 5:49 a.m. 70 yards from the Mosdos Meharam Brisk Tashnad, a Shul, Beis Medrash and Mikvah in Monsey, NY.
There are no descriptions of a suspect or suspects or a vehicle, if any, at this time, Lohud.com reported.
At about 5:49 a.m. police responded to Howard Drive on a report of a pedestrian struck by a car, Ramapo police said. Upon arrival it was quickly determined that the individual had been stabbed and slashed with an unknown weapon.
Hatzolah transported the victim to Westchester Trauma Center where he was rushed into emergency surgery.
He is listed in critical condition, and suffered multiple serious stab wounds.
Israel Altman, a member of Chaverim emergency services, said the man was about to enter the synagogue at 2 Howard Drive when he was “jumped and beaten and stabbed multiple times.”
Video showed the two attackers had been driving around in the neighborhood before this, Altman said.
The Anti-Defamation League announced that it is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those who carried out the vicious attack.
“We are outraged by this terribly violent incident,” Evan Bernstein, the ADL’s regional director, said in a statement.
“This is truly horrifying. A peaceful walk to shul in the early morning hours is how this man started the day and now he in serious condition in a hospital because of this attack. There is absolutely no room in our communities for violence,” he said. “We must come together and stand shoulder to shoulder, not only to condemn this despicable act, but also work as a community to stem the tide of hatred and violence.”
Police are being assisted by the Rockland County Sheriffs BCI unit and Chaverim of Rockland County.
Please say tehillim for Mordechai ben Bracha.
People at the synagogue described the attack as scary and called it an unprovoked assault. They said cameras in the area captured the attacker(s) driving around, possibly looking for a victim, before going after the man on Howard Drive. People vote for the people who allow this to happen again and again.Where’s the outrage from the ELECTED brethren?
Votes? Are you mad? Self defense. Police are NOT there to protect us, Warren v D.C. enough already. Stop being a victim. Never again.
Hashem’s angelic presence watches over every Jew on the way to prayer. More to the point, as His image and likeness we are all we need to be and everywhere we need to be at every moment. Don’t be fooled by the suggestion that we aren’t. Hold to the omnipotent, omnipresent Spiritual fact that “Earth is His garden” and the mortal suggestion that it isnt will vanish.
Get the license plate number
Or even simpler, get armed
Carry a gun and learn to clean and use it. And teach our kids to do the same. Goyim will Not protect us.
You need cameras to face streets and capture cars drive by by. The fault of these attacks is the ADL secular Jewish group for seeking to publicize every little act of anti Semitism on national news. They are doing it to fill their coffers with money which totals fifty million dollars a year. Their agenda is the make it sound like president Trump is responsible because the current head used to work for Obama. The vast majority majority f anti Semitic attacks is not from whites but from Blacks. The liberal ny politicians are at fault. Crime is in the… Read more »
Never again. We should be armed and trained in self defense. We live in America, armed Citizens do not get attacked as they can surely defend themselves. Had he been armed, we may have the perp(s) in custody because they’d be bleeding on floor. And this will send a message, No More. Never again will we be victims of hate crimes. Police are Not there to protect us, Warren v D.C. wrote.
