A Jewish man was injured in an unprovoked attack on Shabbos morning in Crown Heights.
At approximately 6:50 AM the Jewish male victim was walking in front of 728 East New York Avenue when he was approached by a black male black who struck him without saying anything.
The victim was able to grab the attacker’s glasses before he fled.
Police will be sending the glasses for DNA testing in an attempt to identify the attacker, police said.
The victim was taken to Methodist hospital with minor injury to both his ears.
NYPD Hate Crime Division has been notified, and is investigating as a possible bias incident.
In response, the 71st Precinct has arranged for extra police coverage in the area.
