A Jewish man was a victim of a violent attack in Crown Heights this past Motzoei Shabbos, around the time Selichos is recited in preparation for Rosh Hashana.
The incident occurred near Kingston Avenue and Carroll Street at approximately 1 AM.
The victim was attempting to hold a parking spot when the perpetrator began to drive his car into the victim. The perpetrator then went out of his car and began to viciously beat the Jewish man.
Fortunately, the Jewish man was not seriously injured, Shmira patrol reported. They said they are assisting the NYPD in apprehending and charging the thug.
Please be aware of your surroundings. In case of an emergency, call 911 and Shmira 24/7 at 718-221-0303.

1 Please use common sense and don’t try and hold a parking spot at 1am in the morning in a rough neighborhood.
2) Holding a spot just further stereotypes jews in Crown Heights as being self serving and unconcederate of their neighbors- yes I know their list is far longer than ours in terms of being considerate but actions like this definitely only make things worse.
Don’t think Kingston ave and Carroll street should get to a point of being considered a rough neighborhood
And Jewish people shouldn’t have to be any more scared of anyone else holding a parking spot. Everyone does it. Let’s not justify attackers actions
You are being downvoted for victim blaming and they are right about that.
The point stands, however, holding a spot is a questionable business. Not worth the trouble.
Where are the extra patrols needed for the month of Tishrei????
Y did he try to save the parking place we all know that it is not right to do that so next time remember
Stupid choices = stupid prices
He deserved what happened to him . It’s absolutely justified to beat a person for saving a parking spot . Do you hear yourself ??
with so many people on the street they couldn’t grab him/? and beat him up? and hold him for the police?
Time for action not for talk, dinners, photo ops.
An immediate and permanent refuah shlaimeh to this dear Yid, psychologically, emotionally, physically, and in every way. And may HaKadosh Boruch Hu immediately openly deal with all who consider harming us.
It’s something we all need desperately but won’t say it publicly. If we don’t push for it, no one will on our behalf. Our community leaders are bobble heads, not activists. We have to fundraise within to make this happen like we do for so many other less important causes.
Responding to common sense and chilul hashem, Why in the world would someone live in a rough neighbourhood?!
I think it’s civilised to hold a parking space for someone, it’s called communicating?!
It’s terrible that crown heights is such a dangerous place to life because I grew up there
As chassidim the Rebbe’s ratzon is the most important thing. The Rebbe’s opinion about CH is very well known, and is very much relevant today.
I’d suggest you take the time to review the Rebbe’s sichos, letters and maanos on the topic.
