A young Jewish girl was punched in the head near her home in Crown Heights on Friday afternoon in what may be a hate crime.
The 12-year-old girl was on the stoop of her home on President Street near Schenectady Avenue when she was approached by a black person who hit her in the head.
It’s unclear if anything was said during the attack. The NYPD described the attacker as “female black in her 20s or 30s.” The attacker fled down the street and the NYPD was unable to catch her.
The victim suffered a minor bruise to her nose and was treated at the scene.
The NYPD said the attack is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
“I hope that this will be pursued as a hate crime,” said activist Chanina Sperlin. “I urge the District Attorney to put in great effort to find and arrest this individual. This is not the first hate crime in the neighborhood, there have been too many incidents lately.”
Security cameras are imperative.
And there you have the reason for the free for all that is crown heights. Funny how they are very much able to catch someone when they want to.
