A large crowd gathered for a unity Chanukah celebration and Menorah lighting at The Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights on Thursday evening.
The evening of Achdus was a heartwarming celebration commemorating the miracles of Chanukah past and present.
The celebration took place in front of the iconic Dreidel sculpture, the Jewish and Chanukah-related symbol that stands proudly on Eastern Parkway in front of the Museum, and which has become known as a Crown Heights landmark. This year the Dreidel was lit up with colored lights in commemoration of the holiday and was seen by tens of thousands of drivers and passersby on the main thoroughfare of Eastern Parkway.
The event was organized by the Jewish Children’s Museum staff, led by Co-Founder Devorah Halberstam and Executive Director Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson.
The MC for the event was Rabbi Shimon Rivkin, Director of CTeen. Participants recited Tehillim for the safety of Israel, and words of inspiration were said by Rabbi Efraim Mintz, Executive Director of JLI.
The delighted children enjoyed Chanukah crafts, donuts and special gifts.
