Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson, a noted educator and lecturer in Crown Heights, will be heading the new women’s branch of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), COLlive was told.
Jacobson, who has delivered talks on spirituality, feminism and Judaism around the globe, is joining the ranks of the adult education academy from the Associated Beth Rivkah Schools’ Division of Higher Learning.
Her first mission will be launching the Rosh Chodesh Society (RCS) and build partnerships with Chabad Shluchos to help them “empower Jewish women to lead the way to a global spiritual revolution.”
The Rosh Chodesh Society is gearing up for the launch of its newest course, “Heroines of the Bible: Her Story ? My Story.”
Jacobson, who is married to best-selling author Rabbi Simon Jacobson, says her philosophy and passion are fueled by the Rebbe‘s emphatic directive to provide comprehensive Torah education to girls and women, especially in the realm of Chassidus.
“The shluchos have the greatest zechus in the world [to be on the frontlines providing this education],” Jacobson told COLlive.com. “I’m honored and humbled to be just a tiny aside to their holy work? and a bit envious, too.”
She has recently released a video message that sparked a huge amount of excitement about both the upcoming RCS course and her new position at the helm of the society.

I learned something last night from Rabbi Yossi Paltiel’s class on line.
When one wants to be honest with someone.
it must be preceeded by kindness.

It is far better to live in fiction than not to live at all. Inspiration is meaningful even if it comes from the meaningless. One may lecture in d’rush that is non-emes if it brings chizuk in emunah, as we see many parables used to inspire.
Kol Hakavod!
fictional anecdote = in plain English made up to inspire
MRS Sahindy is right here is a source

It says Jackobson is taking over. Who had it before her?
i’ve heard her in real life, and i believe she comes across much better in person, than on video.
In any case, she’s a captivating person to listen to, and i wish her much hatzlacha!!
q= anyone know where she is originally from? she has such a distinct accent – almost taimani, yet a typical new york/boro park accent at the same time. its an intriguing combination, and im just curious as to how that is.
The story concerns a party honoring a great actor. During the evening at a friend’s house, the actor obligingly recited excerpts from the plays in which he had appeared. Feeling that a change of pace would be in order, he suddenly began the familiar lines of the Twenty-Third Psalm, “The Lord is my Shepherd.” As was to be expected, the recitation was a beautiful piece of elocution, and at the finish, a storm of applause arose. Then a devout old man ‘who for decades lived close near the Shepherd,’ asked if he might recite the same psalm. Now, there was… Read more »
I’d also like to know if the Pavarotti story can be documented. It’s quite spectacular and touching. Mrs Jacobson will bring honor and knowledge to her new position. I’d like to believe that ALL people who sing/say any psalm from the bottom of their heart, are equal in getting the message to HaShem, other people and themselves, however talented or non talented they may be.
the best speakerrr everrrr!!!
