Itzhak Schier, a Lubavitcher who described himself as a serial cyber-entrepreneur, has passed away over the weekend.
After getting a BA degree in history from Columbia University, he had a short stint in real estate management in New York.
He then left to Former Soviet Union where he worked in textile and building material import as well as logistics support for Israeli exporters of high tech equipment to Russia.
He operated test marketing of kosher food which then led him to take interest in market research. He moved to Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, where he provided agricultural finance consulting.
While there, Schier kept an active presence on the web, often commenting with his full name on Jewish news websites and blogs.
His online services to fellow entrepreneurs and business owners had brought him as far as Vietnam in recent months.
While spending this Pesach in Bangkok, Thailand, at the Chabad House directed by Rabbi Yosef Kantor, Schier suffered a heart attack in his hotel room and passed away.
He is survived by his parents and brother.
Rabbi Mendel Lerman, Rov of Beis Levi Yitzchok in Crown Heights, who knew him, said the levaya will be held Sunday, 1:00 PM, at the Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodridge, NJ.
He said a minyan is needed for the Levaya. Those that can attend should email [email protected].

Who are you? (I was #24…wondering if I know you…)
Yitzchok was like a father to me…Too shocked to speak. BDE.
HASHEM!!!!!
BDE
He had big dreams and brought joy to many people.
He was like a father to me during and after my parents’ divorce.
I knew him when I was on Shlichus in Dnep. He was a wonderful, kind, friendly, happy, sincere….person.
I met him in Denpropetrovsk on brochure shlichis in 1993 when he came to visit he was a ray of sunshine with his funny jokes and joyful personality.
apparently, he wasn’t even 47. I thought he was older than I, but apparently not.
we also were stuck in moscow /he was not even in town
but somehow he worked it out that we were able to stay at his place.
I remember when he founded Frumspace. It was such a great forum and he was always funny and friendly (the Creedmoor Rebbe was his greatest spoof). I owe him a lot of hakaras hatov for the simcha he gave me through creating his forum and providing me with new friends and interesting conversations. Baruch Dayan HaEmes.
Back in 1995 When myself and another Boucher missed our train in Moscow and had nowhere to sleep for the night he was kind enough to give us a place for 2 nights. A very nice sincere Jew.
We will miss him.
