For the first time, an extensive Chanukah campaign including special broadcasts was shown on Israeli television this year, including on Channel 13, which is associated with the left side of the political map.
In the Chanukah broadcast, presented by Lev Chabad – the Health organization of Chabad of Israel – Tze’irei Chabad, headed by Rabbi Yosef Aharonov, the general public was invited to light Chanukah candles to benefit and heal the wounded in hospitals, highlighting unity and as a salute to the medical teams.
Featured throughout the broadcast are video clips from the lighting of the Chanukah candles in the various hospitals, as well as archive clips courtesy of JEM of the lighting of Chanukah candles in the presence of the Rebbe.
Along with the broadcasts, which have been and will be shown on the television channels, the various channels also screened the Chanukah candle-lighting ceremonies in hospitals along with the shluchim, bringing the holiday light and the Rebbe’s message to hundreds of thousands of viewers.
The project to increase Chanukah’s light, entitled “Together we will shine and prevail,” also received extensive exposure on the media accounts of the television channels on social networks, which have millions of followers.
Rabbi Levi Mendelson, the director of Lev Chabad, said: “Thanks to the activity of the dedicated shluchim in the hospitals, the proclamation of the Chanukah miracle reached many tens and hundreds of thousands as the Rebbe instructed us.”
