The Chabad community in New Haven, Connecticut, recently celebrated the inauguration of two vital institutions that will serve the area’s Hebrew-speaking residents.
The first was the Shul Beis Yosef Yitzchok, and the second was the Refael Mikvah—both generously sponsored by R’ Eliyahu and Racheli Zohar.
The dedication was made in honor of their parents, Rabbi Yosef and Nani Zohar, Mrs. Naami Luki, and in memory of the late Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Luki.
Leading the ceremony were Rabbi Eli and Rochel Raskin, directors of the Jewish Israeli Center of New Haven (JICNH), who lead the Hebrew speaking community.
Following the inauguration, attendees enjoyed a festive meal, during which the donors were warmly praised for their support—and some participants even broke out in joyous dancing.

Eli and Rochele Raskin are doing an amazing job in New Haven with the Israeli’s.
A real asset to the community.
We are so proud of them.
It’s a beautiful thing.
