The Israel National News Jerusalem Conference was held in Manhattan on Sunday, with the participation of a delegation of ministers, members of the Knesset, leaders of Jewish communities and other opinion leaders, all with the aim of strengthening the relationship with Diaspora Jewry.
This year’s conference at the Hilton Hotel marked 75 years of innovation, immigration, the fight against antisemitism and the connection between Israel and the United States with the challenge of the Iranian threat and many other issues.
The day-long event featured addresses by Israeli ministers included Nir Barkat (Likud), the minister of Economy, Ofir Sofer (Religious Zionist Party), the minister of Aliyah and Integration, Amichai Chikli (Likud), Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Minister of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism), Environmental Protection Minister Gila Gamliel (Likud), Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu (Otzma Yehudit), Ofir Akunis (Likud), the minister of science and technology, and Information Minister Galit Distel-Atbaryan (Likud).
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, also addressed the gathering, along with Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Vice Chair. of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Malcolm Hoenlein, Hon. Ruchie Freier and philanthropist and businesswoman Chagit Leviev.
