The plot over Israel’s political future thickens…
Benny Gantz, leader of the center-left Blue and White party, has failed to form a coalition and returned the mandate to form the government to President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday evening.
Gantz’s attempt follows the first chance that was given to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who also wasn’t able to reach a majority with his Likud party and others.
The country has already been through 2 national election cycles this past year, both times leaving Yisrael Beiteinu party leader Avigdor Lieberman the kingmaker.
Lieberman demanded sweeping policy changes that would hurt the interests of the frum community – including the religious Zionist and charedi populations.
Members of the Knesset will now have the opportunity to recommend a candidate for prime minister over the next three weeks. However, a third round of elections appears likely, Israel National News reported.
“Gantz told the president that he is also committed in the remaining 21 days to continue to make every effort to form a good government for Israeli citizens.” the Blue and White party said in a statement.
Not sure what the 3rd time around will help. It will be the same results.
The same will be with a 4th and 5th and 6th election…..
Perhaps the Rebbe is waiting for Chabad to galvanize fulltime to
ensure a rightwing government, give the effort everything we have in Israel…
Moshiah now
AMEN!
We wrote about Second Chances but the Third will be even better, G-d Willing! Now is the time to support and endorse only those candidates and parties who will heed the Rebbe’s call for Shleimus HaAretz and Pikuach Nefesh and THE ONE STATE SOLUTION (see http://www.zehutpeaceplan.org) that implements the Rebbe’s directives for bringing true peace.
