A barrage of missiles fired by Iran toward Israel on Friday night and throughout Shabbos resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals and injuries to dozens more. Among the victims was a 60-year-old woman who was killed on Friday night, followed by the deaths of a man and woman struck by a missile that hit a residential neighborhood in Rishon LeZion on Shabbos morning.
At least one person, a woman in her 20s, died in the western Galilee town of Tamra from an Iranian missile strike, Israel’s national emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported early Sunday.
Separately, firefighters are working at the scene of an impact on a four-story building also in the Galilee region, Israel Fire and Rescue Services said on Saturday. Firefighters rescued a person in critical condition and are searching for trapped people.
Fire and Rescue Services added that they are searching for another impact site near the scene.
In the Lower Galilee, three fire crews are working on a burning agricultural building.
The Israel Fire and Rescue hotline also received reports of several incidents in the coastal and northern districts, including impacts and damage to residential buildings and fires in open areas.
The massive rocket attack caused widespread damage to homes and vehicles across central Israel. Emergency responders evacuated 27 injured individuals to local hospitals for treatment. The destruction and trauma left in its wake prompted urgent calls for continued vigilance and adherence to safety guidelines.
Speaking to the media, the mayor of Rishon LeZion described the scene as “the most horrific I’ve ever witnessed,” urging residents to remain in protected spaces. “You have to see it with your own eyes to understand why the Home Front Command’s instructions must be followed,” he said.
According to Iranian state sources, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they struck dozens of military and civilian targets across Israel. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to hold an emergency security assessment meeting with senior defense officials and government ministers.
Magen David Adom released a summary of the injuries across the country:
Tel Aviv area: 13 injured, including 2 in moderate condition and 11 lightly hurt.
Ramat Gan area: 30 injured, including a 74-year-old woman who passed away after being evacuated in critical condition, a man around 65 seriously wounded, 1 moderate, and 27 with light injuries.
Rishon LeZion: 29 victims, including a 60-year-old woman who was declared dead at the scene and a 73-year-old man who later succumbed to his injuries, along with 2 moderate and 25 lightly injured individuals.
Additionally, MDA treated five people wounded by debris and shrapnel—one in moderate condition and four lightly injured. Another 94 people were hurt while rushing to shelters, including one in serious condition, one moderate, 92 lightly injured, and 33 treated for anxiety.
The Municipality of Rishon LeZion issued a statement describing the immediate response of emergency teams to the direct missile strike in a residential area. City personnel, alongside security and rescue forces, carried out swift evacuation and rescue operations.
Mayor Raz Kinstlich said: “This is a very difficult scene with extensive destruction. Tragically, we lost two dear residents this morning. Our hearts are with the families during this painful time. Our emergency forces acted quickly and decisively, just as they have trained for. We will continue supporting our residents with aid, guidance, and recovery efforts. I urge anyone in need to contact the municipal hotline.”
He added, “I call on everyone to follow the safety instructions of the Home Front Command and enter protected spaces when necessary. It saves lives—we saw that clearly today. I send my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded. We will not let terror or fear break us. Am Yisrael Chai.”
Netanyahu convened with the security cabinet late on Saturday as Israel and Iran traded a fresh round of missile strikes.
In photos released of the meeting, on a wall behind the ministers, television screens can be seen showing the quote from the Book of Numbers that Israel used to code-name its strikes on Iran: “Behold, a people that rises like a young lion, and lifts itself up like a lion.”
Early Sunday morning in Israel, Israel’s Fire and Rescue service reported several buildings were damaged in central Israel in the latest barrage of Iranian strikes.
An eight-story building was directly hit in the Dan district, and another residential building in the area was damaged, according to Fire and Rescue.
Several buildings in the Central district were also directly hit and a fire was burning in an open area, the agency said.
Photos provided by the agency show emergency responders digging through rubble in destroyed buildings.
Videos shared by Israel’s national emergency service Magen David Adom show a badly damaged building in central Israel, with debris on the ground.

but interesting. so many quotes of the rebbe and of torah about safety in israel are emblazoned before a threat and when something doesn’t happen. but when something does happen… it’s tragedy and sadness, but no mention of accountability for the promises of safety. seems like simply sometimes what you want happens and sometimes not. and there’s no control over that or explanation or someone’s blessing or curse.
The odds of the amount of war, and the amount of deaths aren’t equal.
So its safer.
If they would listen to the Rebbes perspective more, things like Oct 7 wouldn’t have happened in the first place. So we have to take responsibility that the right actions are taken.
Gd is still watching there more than any other place. So notice the blessings and be in a good headspace. You need to count Gds blessings, not reject them.
Whoever was in a safe room was safe
Trump continues to be more or less a zero, and still won’t lift a finger to destroy the Iranian Auschwitz machine at Fordow. I hope I can eat my words soon.
How much money did your democrat friends make from the easing of sanctions hmm
My friends are in Israel, fighting in the front, sitting in bomb shelters, working in hospitals, etc. Spare me your nonsense just because I don’t bow to your idiot -King. I voted for him three times, but what is important to me is that I am a Jew. The last time I supported a Democrat for President was before the 9/11 attacks. And still, I am not so far impressed.
So yeah, my friends, are in the front. In Gaza, in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Judea and Samaria and elsewhere.
Without Israel receiving the bunker buster bombs from Trump which will give the IDF the capability to destroy the underground nuclear facilities this war will not end successfully.
Time to put the pressure on him. This is a decisive moment for the future of the Jewish people and everyone in Israel is putting themselves on the line. Entirely. If this guy wants to go down as a friend of any consequence to the Jewish people, now is the time to show it. If “never again” actually has any meaning, now is where it is put to the test.
We have to trust in Hashem!

So what are we doing about it? Who is arranging farbreghens? Everyone should be adding in their Ahavas Yisroel. This is how we can help Erezt Yizroel. Not by moaning and groaning about this or that president. Ker A Velt Heint!!
