As you may already know, on Sunday night, Yud Tes Kislev the Menahel and director of The Shluchim Office, Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov, was taken to the hospital after taking ill during a visit to the Young Shluchim Camp in Florida.
His family is overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of concern, your prayers, and your offers of support. We are pleased to let you know that although Rabbi Shemtov’s situation is still critical, it has stabilized and the doctors have complete confidence in a full recovery IY”H.
Thanks to the strong leadership of Mrs. Bassie Shemtov, Director of Operations with the support of the department heads Rabbi Avraham Green, Rabbi Yankee Rosenblum, Rabbi Adam Brooker, Rabbi Chezky Vogel, and Devorah Leah Notik, together with the school principals and Management Consultant Rabbi Baruch Hecht, The Shluchim Office has continued its regular operation B”H. The staff have rallied behind them to ensure that the Nigri International Shluchim Online School, Young Shluchim Camps, Children’s Kinusim, Shluchim Store, Publications and everything in between are running on schedule.
Although the daily operations are continuing without interruption, the ongoing financial stability is crucial. A group of Shluchim and friends of The Shluchim Office have stepped forward to form an interim Vaad who will work with Mrs. Bassie Shemtov and the entire office staff to help gather support for the Moisad while Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov recovers.
In the following few days, the Vaad will be reaching out to Shluchim and Balei Batim to ask for their support to guarantee the immediate and ongoing operation of The Shluchim Office and its institutions during Rabbi Shemtov’s recovery. If you wish to join the effort or assist in any way, please reach out to any of the Vaad members listed or email [email protected].
Please continue to daven for Gedalya ben Bat-Sheva for a swift and complete recovery.

Is the heart and soul of the Shluchim office. I spoke to him several weeks ago and was concerned about the tension and struggle he experiences with covering the budget of the Shluchim Office. I believe that his current medical condition had much to do with it. Helping the Shluchim Office at this time will also help the hundreds of children on the online school as well as all the other programs of the Shluchim Off. I hope that Anash and Shluchim will step up to the challenge and help the Shluchim Office financially until Gedalya is physically able to… Read more »
