The Seymour J. Abrams Cheder Lubavitch preschool held their Tu B’shvat interactive day this week.
Parents and grandparens were invited to spend the day in their childrens’ classrooms. The children enjoyed sing alongs and had a chance to play with their parents in their classrooms.
“Four weeks ago, my childen started counting down the days until the interactive day. They wait for it every year.” said Mrs. Leah Stern, a parent of a child in the Cheder.
“There are so many creative centers to chose from. We didn’t know which one to choose first,” said Mrs. Hindy Silberberg, another parent.
“When the teachers prepare the centers, they keep in mind the many preschool skills that the children develop throughout the year,” said Mrs. Lakey Silber, the preschool’s director. “Graphing Aleph Bais using dice, patterning olives and grapes, beading shivas haminim necklaces, washing fruits in the water table, designing edible trees and painting placemats are some of the activities that take place. I schep such nachas watching the children engaged in play and concentrating on their hard work,’ she said.
“My children can’t wait for the end of the year interactive day when there is a train ride and treasure hunt,” said Mrs. Chani Zalmanov, a parent who drives from Indiana to send her children to the Cheder. “We’re all looking forward to another fun day when we can enjoy each other’s company.”
