Rabbi Shneur and Rachel Farouz (nee Gewurz) were appointed as the newest Chabad Shluchim in the central Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
They will be serving the French speaking Jews who are living in the neighborhoods of the “new north” under the current leadership of Rabbi Menachem Gerlitzky.
“There is a lot of work,” Rabbi Farouz said. “There has been a big Aliya of Jews from France and they are interested in coming together as a community and learning just as they did in France.”

They will be working alongside Rabbi Menachem Mendel Duchan from the Azorei Chein neighborhood and Rabbi Eliyahu Shweka of the Gush Hagadol neighborhood.

The yishuv of Efrat only has a Hebrew speaking shliach. Wonderful nice people BUT they don’t cater to the needs of the 40% Anglo aliya population. There is so much work that… Read more »
