Mrs. Ida Rivkin, from the first settlers in the Israel village of Kfar Chabad and mother of a respected family, has passed away Thursday, 13 Nissan 5772.
She was 87.
A daughter of the large Kugel family, she and her late husband R’ Tzvi Hirsh Rivkin lived through the many hardship facing Jews in the past century in the former Soviet Union before immigrating to Israel.
For over 30 years she worked as a cook in the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva, worrying for the hundreds of thousands of bochurim who learned there.
She is survived by her son R’ Shmuel (Mulik) Rivkin, owner of the Kol Shar audiovisual company; Mrs. Shifra Aharonov, wife of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Aharonov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Israel; and Mrs. Batya Hecht of Kfar Chabad.
Her levaya took place Thursday from her home in Kfar Chabad. Because Pesach begins on Friday night, the family will only be sitting Shiva until Thursday afternoon.

I remember helping her sometimes in the yeshiva. What a patient nice understanding woman. Specefically the mistakes of a young bachur. A true woman of valor. Baruch Dayan ha’emes
