The Marina Roscha Shul in the center of Moscow was filled to the brim on Rosh Hashana with hundreds of Jews of all types joining the Rosh Hashana prayers, led by Chief Rabbi of Russia Rabbi Berel Lazar.
Hundreds participated in the Yom Tov meals celebrating Rosh Hashana in several halls, including in the nearby Shaarei Zedek Jewish Charity Center and in the nearby Mesivta building. All experienced the uplifting atmosphere of the holiday, with many hundreds of all types of Jews participating in services at Chabad Centers throughout Moscow.
As usual on the eve of a holiday, congratulatory letters arrived at the office of the Chief Rabbi of Russia from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Chairman of the Duma, the Chairman of the Parliament and the Prime Minister of Russia, wishing the Jews of the country blessings for Rosh Hashanah and the New Year.
