More than 250 girls made their way to Mimulo this past Sunday for the launch of the all-new Friendship Circle group: FC Alumni and Friends.
The new volunteers were treated to a tantalizing array of beverages and desserts including iced cappuccinos, milkshakes, cakes and more.
“The ambiance was incredible,” said Bracha, a volunteer. “I thought I would just sign up and leave after a few minutes, but the atmosphere was so special, I ended up staying for an hour!”
“I wish they would have an event like this every week!” exclaimed Rivkie.
The new group is comprised of high school graduates some who were volunteers in Friendship Circle, and wish to continue to befriend children with special needs through sharing their skills and talents with the friendship Circle.
“To have such enthusiastic volunteers who are so willing to help,” said Friendship Circle director, Chaya Eckhaus, “Opens up many opportunities for us to create new programs to better serve our children.”
The friendship Circle also launched a “Dollar a Day” club, and raffled off an iPod Touch which was won by Penina Dean.
The friendship Circle would like to thank all those that made this event possible:
Café K and Moo’s Gourmet for the catering.
Chaya Chein , Mirelle Kugel, Rochie Nash, Musia Goldman, Ella Rapaport, Shaina Shagalov, Mushkie Deitsch, Rochie Smetana, Sara Leah Kirchenbaum, Rivka Bryski and Devorah Bukiet.
We are still looking for more volunteers! If you did not get a chance to sign up to the new volunteer division please click here, boys and men are welcome to sign up too.
