To say or not to say?
And he said to say it, even though we can’t be in shul.
You say it at home. When I was a newborn my grandfather passed away so my mother couldn’t go to shul Yom Kippur. So she said it at home.
What I want to know is, what about aveilim who need to say Kaddish? I heard the “guests” in Corona Hotels in Israel have minyanim and are willing to say Kaddish on behalf of aveilim…. at a colossal price. If the tales of a high cost are true, it’s appalling.

Rabbi Kaplan very eloquently explains the evolution of saying yizkor and how the essence of saying yizkor is the commitment to give tzedaka in the merit of the deceased and just as we daven for them we beseech that they daven for us. Yes, even though we are supposed to say it in shul because of what we read during krias hatorah, this year we must say yizkor at home and follow the doctors and rulings of Rabbonim. Moshiach now! Next year in Yerusholayim! Well done! Thank you Rabbi Kaplan! Good Yom tov… Read more »
