Gan Academy is a school that provides a uniquely balanced education in both Limudei Kodesh and Limudei Chol to more than one hundred children, ages two through fifth grade. Now in its tenth year, the school is firmly predicated on the idea that every child is a budding sapling in Hashem’s garden, imbued with endless potential to blossom and bear fruit.

Gan Academy sees it as its mission to cultivate and nurture each child’s social, emotional, academic, and spiritual qualities, thereby helping them blossom into a beautiful, fruit-bearing tree. This is implicit in its motto – Plant. Sow. Reap.

With this goal in mind, they keep their class sizes small, and their environment warm and personal. Strong emphasis is placed on each child’s social-emotional education, to complement and enhance their spiritual and academic growth. Students develop the ability to be reflective about their own feelings, improve their communication and consider their place in their classroom community.

In addition to using creative and high quality curricula, the warm and dedicated teachers invest wholeheartedly in each of their students, giving them the personal attention and individual guidance that they need. The results are evident each morning, when the Gan Academy children skip and hop into the school building with smiles on their faces, looking forward to another exciting day.

Today, on Wednesday March 1st, Gan Academy will launch a 36 hour fundraising campaign to invest in the teachers that make the school outstanding. This campaign will have a crucial impact on the education of many young children and will shape the future of our community. In addition to covering operating costs, this campaign will also fuel some exciting new projects at Gan Academy. Plans are in the works to create a new children’s library, expand the outdoor play area, and introduce a new principal for the girls’ elementary school division.
