Tayere Shluchim שיחיו,
I write to you in the days of ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם. Our Shlichus is to bring about the בנין בית המקדש השלישי and the Geulah immediately.
In the Maamar of Yud Shevat (Bosi L’gani) the Rebbe says ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם בתוכו לא נאמר אלא בתוכם בתוך כל אחד ואחד מישראל. The בנין בית המקדש has to start with ourselves and from there to reach out to the hearts of all the Yidin around us to help them rebuild their own בית המקדש which the foundation of, as it says in today’s Hayom Yom, was really never destroyed.
The בנין בית המקדש in our hearts and home has to be built on Torah and Tefillah.
When we are with our wife and children, especially during Shabbos and Yomtov, we must share words of Torah, talk about Shlichus, and sing niggunim.
We also should talk about the miracles we experienced or what other Shluchim/Shluchos have told us about. Shlichus begins at home, living in the way of שלוחו של אדם כמותו. The Rebbe is with us in our home, in our family and in our Chabad Houses. Let us make the Rebbe proud.
Let us follow all the Rebbe’s directives which includes unequivocally following דינא דמלכותא. Therefore, the Rebbe wants to show us his hand, knowing we need חיזוק in these days.
My nephew Rabbi Shalom Ber Cunin (ben Pinchus) told me the following recent story. (Incidentally, today is the Yahrzeit of his father, my brother Rabb Pinchus Cunin, may he be a gutter better on high for his family and the whole world):
He was out walking with his wife and kids and saw a young couple with two children and a baby in a stroller. My nephew and wife said good Shabbos to them.
The young couple, modern looking, said “Shabbat Shalom” back and they started talking. To the surprise of my nephew and wife, the young mother said the baby’s name is Menachem Mendel named in honor of the Rebbe, no less. They also told that his Bris was on Gimmel Tammuz!
The mother explained that she had gone to Chabad Talmud Torah, which gave her such a deep connection to Yiddishkeit, and to the Rebbe and after she left she maintained contact with the Shlucha. When she got married, the Shlucha (of course) encouraged her to use Mikva, which she did.
After having two children, they were not sure if they were ready to have more but the Shlucha kept telling her how important it is and she agreed. (Incidentally, she sends her children to the same local Chabad she went to because she wants her children to have the same deep connection to Yiddishkeit and the Rebbe she grew up with.)
The next time she had to use the Mikva, the Shlucha asked if the baby is a boy to name him Menachem Mendel, in honor of the Rebbe and she agreed. Therefore, not only a miracle but also one that Hashem wanted us to know about (as it says on the Shiras HaBe’er עלי באר ענו לה)!
As the Rebbe’s Shluchim, we have the zechus and great responsibility of טוט אלץ וואס איר קענט צו ברענגען משיח. When we suffer so does Hashem suffer עמו אנכי בצרה and does the Rebbe suffer. In these last days of the galus, when dark clouds try to threaten the light of Geulah with all types of various plagues, which we are hit with ,even a small amount of light will banish a multitude of darkness.
We need to reach out to more people with Tefillin (safely by zoom or phone, as I do), get more women to use Mikvah and to build Mikvaos where needed.
BH! Mazal Tov! Chabad of Malibu (the first mosad opened after Gimmel Tammuz 5754), with many miracles, just completed construction of a beautiful Mikva (one of the 43 new Mosdos opened in the zechus of our son Tzemach Yehoshua).
It should be by us as it was with מלחמת מדין that ולא נפקד ממנו איש. Let us pray that Hashem grant a רפואה שלמה to all חולי ישראל and to all the Shluchim or Shluchos and their children who need including my Rebbetzin אדל מרים בת בלומא לאה.
Let us do all we can to have the Rebbe with us נשמה מלובש בגוף גשמי למטה מעשרה טפחים והוא יגאלנו along with all of the Rebbe’s ספרים כתבים וחפצים in the בית המקדש השלישי בירושלים בשמחה וטוב לבב. And all this to be לכתחלה אריבער און אריבער, as the Rebbe says.
Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Eliyahu Cunin
P.S. All Shluchim are instructed to comply meticulously with all government health guidelines issued by the State, County and City where you live as per what the Rebbe has told us numerous times. We are dealing with סכנת נפשות ממש. No חכמות! As per the attached letter we sent out with the Rabbonim.
