The family of Rabbi Yochanan Gurary, Chief Rabbi of the Israeli city of Holon, shared the good news that he had awakened early Thursday morning and even spoken, a development they thanked Hashem for.
Rabbi Gurary, 73, is one of the Shluchim the Rebbe sent to the Holy Land and a member of Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Israel. He was hospitalized last month after suffering a heart attack.
He was in critical condition, prompting his family to ask the public to daven and do Mitzvos in his merit. They also gave him an added name to give him extra spiritual strength.
The full name to say Tehillim for is Chaim Eliyahu Yochanan ben Sheina Taama.
With this encouraging news, the Gurary family said it is hopeful for continued improvement and a swift, full recovery.
They ask the public to continue davening and express deep gratitude to Hashem for the miracles already witnessed, as well as to the Rebbe’s brachos, which they believe are working.
