For the first time in Iceland, the Holocaust was commemorated on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
It was organized by Rabbi Avraham and Mushky Feldman, Shluchim and Directors of Chabad of Iceland.
“This was an important gathering,” the Feldmans said, thanking their partners in this event, Ambasada RP w Reykjaviku/Pólska Sendiráðið í Reykjavík and Háskóli Íslands.
The guest speaker was Annette Stahl of Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim (NTNU) who flew in from Sweden to share a powerful message and moving story.
Speaking was also British Ambassador Nevins and U.S. Ambassador Gunter who spoke in tribute of the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.
“We must #NeverForget. And we must be strong and proud as Jewish people. Am Yisrael Chai,” the Feldmans stated.
