On Wednesday a memorial ceremony was held in Russia’s Marina Roscha Synagogue, marking 65 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
The ceremony took place in the main shul of the Marina Roscha center, led by Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, who addressed the crowd and recited the prayer ‘Keil Malei Rachamim.”
Holocaust survivors, local shluchim and the shul’s congregants participated in the ceremony. 26 Ambassadors and Diplomats from 40 States also attended, as well as representatives from many different faiths.
The event was widely covered in the local media.
