Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to “History’s Heroes” Where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Yisro
The Torah was only given after Yisro came to the desert and converted. His arrival was a preparation for Matan Torah, which is why the Parsha in which the Yidden received the Torah is called by his name. The name Yisro refers to 2 aspects in which he had attained perfection: Torah knowledge and action. The name Yisro in Hebrew incorporates the name Yeser, which means “add,” because a section in the Torah was added due to him. The name Yisro in Hebrew includes Yeser, meaning “add,” as a section in the Torah was added because of him. This alludes to the perfection he reached in understanding the knowledge of Hashem. The name Yisro, which is Yeser with the addition of a Vav, hints at his fulfillment of Mitzvos.
Yisro, who became a Ger/Baal Teshuva, was continually growing in his Yiddishkeit. Today, we will be exploring colors to illustrate the vibrant growth one can experience in daily life. The fascinating aspect of this experiment lies in how the color from the dye bleeds into the tissue when water is dripped on top. Watch in awe as the colors spread and evolve—a truly satisfying reaction.
