Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back “History’s Heroes” Where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Sarah
Sara Immeinu, Avraham’s wife, is a pillar of the Jewish Nation as the first mother to bring life to our people. Despite facing great challenges, including captivity by Pharaoh and Avimelech, she devoted her life to serving Hashem. The Torah highlights, “This was the life of Sara,” reflecting that her true essence was her spiritual journey. She fulfilled three important Mitzvos connected to women: lighting Shabbos candles, separating Challah, and Taharas Hamishpacha. When faced with difficulties, we can draw inspiration from Sara and focus on living meaningfully. True life is found in Torah and Mitzvos. Remember, real value lies not in material possessions, but in the sacred Mitzvos we carry out.
Today, we will honor Sara’s incredible gift of spreading light by creating an origami Shabbos Candle Box, or Neshek box. This project embodies the warmth and brightness that Sara inspires in us. Origami is a captivating art where a simple piece of paper transforms through repeated folds into stunning shapes, with no cutting or gluing involved! The word “origami” comes from Japanese, meaning “to fold” and “paper,” capturing the essence of this beautiful craft.
Please join our contest, where we raffle off 2 Tickets to the Jewish Children’s Museum, when a completed project (picture or video) is sent to [email protected] . Hatzlacha J
