What is Chabad of Edinburgh? Like many of its centers around the world, Chabad seeks to provide a home away from home for Jewish students at the University of Edinburgh. As a result of the variety of students’ backgrounds the recent assimilation rate on campus, the future of many of these students’ Judaism looks bleak.
Chabad of Edinburgh always offers a fun, warm and exciting environment for students to discover and experience the joys and beauty of Judaism, whether it’s around a Shabbat table, Learning class, one-on-one or at a Holiday program. Chabad strives to create a Jewish resource for these students through its many holiday related activities and thought provoking Torah classes, ensuring that these young men and women develop strong, vibrant Jewish identities.
Edinburgh is a small city with a small population of Jews – we are committed to bringing the Rebbe’s teachings to every Jew that walks through the Chabad House. We need YOUR support to help us continue expand our activities and provide a Jewish resource for the Jewish community and Jewish students in Edinburgh. Myself and a few friends were in Glasgow and needed a place to stay for a night. Rabbi wineman immediately agreed to put us up. We actually got stuck there as the transportation system was in limbo and he literally treated us like family making sure all our needs were taken care of.
I have never had the chance to repay you and will definitely be supporting this wonderful endeavor.
