Eight years ago, the town of Fremont, California was considered a Jewish wasteland. Those locals who were Jewish would have been hard-pressed to name a single other Jewish local. As far as anyone was concerned, Jewish life in Fremont was dead, and anyone who thought otherwise was insane.
Then Rabbi Moshe and Chaya Fuss entered the scene.
Sent on Shlichus to this seemingly-dead town, the two worked tirelessly to prove that the world had been wrong about Fremont. That Jewish life in Fremont was not only still alive, but was flourishing and thriving. Couple after couple, family after family, Rabbi Moshe and Chaya nurtured the seeds of Jewish life, helping it grow into something strong and proud.
Eight years later, Jewish life in Fremont is unrecognizable. Where once Jewish locals were unaware of each other, today they are part of a growing and vibrant community. From JLI classes to Hebrew school; from Holiday Programs to Camp Gan Israel; from Torah and Tea classes to Women’s Events, Chabad of Fremont continues to fan the flames of Jewish life in Fremont. And they’re only getting bigger.
Which is where you come in.
Chabad of Fremont has grown far beyond its humble roots. For eight years now, Rabbi Moshe and Chaya have housed Chabad directly in their house, but today, their house is just not big enough anymore to keep up with the growing community. This year, new Shluchim will be joining their team: Rabbi Eli and Shayna Landes, who will be running their brand-new Shalom Preschool.
For all of this to happen, they need a building.
After much searching, they’ve B”H found that building, and are ready to close—in just one day. In just one day, Chabad of Fremont will BE”H buy the building they need to continue growing their community.
And they need your help.
Rabbi Moshe and Chaya have fundraised tirelessly, but they still need to raise another $80,000 to close on the building. And if they don’t raise it, they’ll lose the building.
Over the next 48 hours, you have the opportunity to help build the future of an entire community’s Chabad House. To be a part of each and every Yid in Fremont’s Jewish growth. To be a part of young children’s Chinuch through Shalom Preschool.
Two days. $80,000. We can do it, if we do it together.
