In recent years, the gravesite of the Alter Rebbe, the founder of Chabad Chasidus known as the Baal Tanya, in the Ukrainian city of Haditch, has become a popular site for thousands of Jews from all over the world, who visit all year round.
The days around his Yartzeit on the 24th of Tevet are especially busy, when the holy place is crowded with hundreds arriving to visit the gravesite.
For several years now, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Deitsch, the local Chabad Shliach, has been running the visitors service at the Alter Rebbe’s gravesite, which provides full hospitality services to guests who come to Haditch.
The staff is preparing large quantities of Kosher food, hot drinks and accommodations for hundreds of visitors.
“This year, we will hold beautiful meals, Chasidic farbrengens, and of course, as the tradition for many years, a special Seder Niggunim at sunset on the day of the Hilula, with the participation of prominent Rabbis and Mashpiim, who will lead the singing,” said Rabbi Deitsch.
It should be noted that at the Farbrengen of Chof-Daled Teves 5712 the Rebbe said:
“All the heavenly _hashpa’os_ given to us come through our “intermediary-connector,” my father-in-law, the Rebbe. It is through him that we receive all the [blessings] associated with the _yom hahilula_ of the Alter Rebbe, and the ability to connect with him etc.
