If you’re walking past 1447 President Street on almost any given afternoon, expect a lively scene: children hurry from school, their winter coats covering leotards, leggings, or even a traditional karate gii hidden underneath.
The sounds of little feet running and jumping can be heard from the open door, through the windows arms and legs can be seen cartwheeling and tumbling through the air. Leaving the winter chill behind, boys, girls, toddlers, teens, and parents step into the warm environment that has made Gymies what it is today. It may be cold outside, but that hasn’t stopped any of the action here!
Gymies’ team of coaches, morahs, and staff are constantly on the floor, guiding and encouraging your little athletes, helping them to grow stronger and learn new skills each day and every day.
“We believe that each and every child is a rockstar, and deserves the chance to shine,” says founder and Director Sarah Chani Bennaroch.
A diverse schedule of classes ranging from gymnastics to karate to ballet made up of energetic students of all ages and levels, is a big part of what makes Gymies Gym so unique.
Years ago, Bennaroch had a dream of sharing her love of movement and exercise with the vibrant local community. She saw firsthand the empowerment that reaching personal goals through movement had on her students- an effect that reaches far beyond the gym.
“We’re more than just a gym for kids- we’re a community looking to enhance children’s lives and to ensure their healthy and happy futures,” she says.
After weeks, months, and, even, for some students, years of practicing, the time has come for them to show the world just how amazing they are! Each and every one of our GYMIES kids will have the chance to show off their skills at the 2nd Annual GYMIES SPECTACULAR SPECTACULAR- a series of 3 shows in one evening, held at the Jewish Children’s Museum.
The showtimes are 4:30 pm, 5:45 pm, and 7 pm the evening of Wednesday, February 26th. The show features everyone from Mini Gym-goers experiencing the stage for the first time to our elite SQUAD students, captivating audiences with their mastery of complex skills. It will truly be a night to remember!
