I’m saddened to hear how many people on here were abused , I’m hoping you are all reported it.. That’s the key issue here .. I’ve spent 4+ hrs on thursday time on fri and hrs on shabbos. Calls to the detectives since… Because its more then bad enough my kids went through this the one who was groped and the one who witness it! And I don’t want to hear of anyone else being violated this way.. Uniform no uniform NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TOUCH ANYONE EVER let’s work as a community together to stop this instead… Read more »

Nobody new she was wearing a uniform until 5# so don’t blame 2# for saying that tznius is important
(Btw I’m not trying to say this in a offensive way)

i think number 30 knows that. shes saying that even if the girl wa wearing a uniform we now know why tznius is so important. in this case it happened even tho the gilr was tznius, but now everyone who thinks tznius is pointless..all those people walking around in mini skirst etc..can see how the mitzva is important. if this kind of thing is happening to someone who was copletely tznius, how much more so to someone who isnt!

I am a mother of four small children. I was walking with all of them on Montgomery st near Kingston. It was 5:30 in the afternoon, dark. Slightly rainy so street was deserted. I was wearing a coat- loose fit. A black man wheeling a bike was behind me. I moved to the side to let home pass- and he did the same to me! I jumped, but was with my children and not about to make a scene. And he just kept walking. Something needs to be done about this! And please- don’t blame our beautiful high school girls… Read more »

בס’ד
I am an old man, have never had this happen to me, but these creeps, the toppers, are at fault, not the innocent girls or ladies. tznuis or not, no one has the right to invade another’s privacy; for want of a better word. unfortunately the police are not everywhere, and even if they were, they sometimes come up with “we have more important things …”
if local balabatim are around, and are up to it, they should “splain” to these …bad people.

you have a good brother for doing that! also, for everyone else, it does not matter what you are wearing, no man should ever even have the thought of touching someone…. especially a teenage girl. noone should be blaming about the tznius restriction happening…..she was wearing a uniform! why talk about tznius if its a uniform?! whatever anyone is wearing, a uniform or not, no one should be touching you.

I was reading this article and was shocked. I am a young girl living away from home to attend high school and this kind of stuff scares me. I shouldn’t have to be on “high alert” in the place I live. I shouldn’t have to live in fear of, chas vishalom, me being the next knockout victim or worse. And I shouldn’t have to be scared to walk home from school when it’s dark outside.
Adults: Please help the young girls and boys around here. instead of just writing about it can’t we do something?

I agree with number 20
December 22, 2013 10:37 am

agree with number 20 you are right – never does anyone have the right to touch you in that way!

Yes that is se***al harrassment. Anything you are uncomfortable with – without your permission is considered unacceptable and harrasment. In areas that are supposed to be covered….

I'm 40 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday.
December 22, 2013 10:14 am

I am 40 years old and I can still remember the embarrassment and everlasting fear that came with this exact incident. I was 18 years old. I was walking home from school at Bais Rivkah Sem, down Crown street. I was between Brooklyn and Kingston. I was walking with three other girls, I heard a ruffling behind us (from a jacket) and just as I turned around to see what or who that was, I felt his hand and there he was with a huge creepy grin. I screamed and we all ran to the corner where there were a… Read more »

Be FAIR
December 22, 2013 7:49 am

only one person commented about tznius #2. Dont blame everyone. She or he seems to have a problem. The rest of us feel with the victims and this has to be stopped. #2 please have the decency to apologize for causing more pain.

I was once groped
December 22, 2013 6:13 am

By a waiter at a wedding (not in ch). I never even thought of bringing it to the police. Is that even considered s**ual harassment?

You do not have any comprehension of life.

I dont care if the girl was out strutting in a bathing suit. NO man has ANY right to do what they did.

it doesnt matter what the person has on, no one is allowed to touch anyone

Blaming the victim
December 22, 2013 12:47 am

It seems victims always get blamed. My daughter was bullied at a lubuvitch school, and the principal said we were too fearful…so just take abuse, ……or fight back, teach your children to speak up, stand their ground and take no crp. Even if you wear a mini skirt, still no reason to be abused Honestly, frummers are sooooooo foolish sometimes.

So my brother devised a metal plate that gave an electric shock!!! I wore the battery on a waist belt. He lit up like a tree!!!

i think i saw this guy today
December 21, 2013 10:09 pm

Today as i was passing president and schenectady i saw a few suspicious looking guys and as i passed president someone started following me so i crossed the street and pretended to go up stairs to a house so he continued..after he passed i continued to where I had to go and somehow he happened to be right where i was …so i crossed over to side where ppl were and walked back home..on way home he was with 2 other guys walking away so i turned into alley on schenectady and walked down troy.

Tznius?
December 21, 2013 9:06 pm

Are u mad? The girl was groped! Wearing a school uniform!
How dare you shift blame on the innocent victim!
This is not the place to discuss tznius.
It is the place to share info to catch the sicko doing it.
And show some compassion to the victims.
Gut voch.

of course
December 21, 2013 9:00 pm

sure blame the poor victims rather the animal perv. What is wrong with you people? U start assuming it;s the girls’ clothing making this happen? How do u suppose the parents feel when they see ugly comments? shame on all of you who state this.

not okay
December 21, 2013 8:59 pm

For every time this is reported, it probably happened to someone else who did not report it, or even tell anyone at all. It is very important that any incidents like this are reported to the police and shomrim.

To say that wearing a miniskirt had anything to do with this is awful. Do not blame the victim.

just looking at the comments

December 21, 2013 8:53 pm

I don’t know if it was the same guy. It happened to my daughter on Crown and Troy a couple of weeks ago. She was also wearing her uniform so lets not start with the Tznius issue. It has no relevance here!! It happened to my sister more recently also Crown and Troy. Perp was on a green bike. He is obviously one of our delightful neighbors…that’s how he disappeared……Probably into a building!!

December 21, 2013 6:27 pm

first of all that is really scary…bh the girls are OK….. maybe girls and women should think twice b4 wearing MINI!
If not for tznius,
then at least for SAFETY!
if this is a new tactic then mini wearers are a better target

December 21, 2013 5:36 pm
